Writing a novel is hard … and editing is even harder!

Even if you have loads of experience, you’re sure to miss some mistakes. All authors, no matter their level, need that professional polish of an editor.

But you can’t afford $1,000 to get your novel edited at this present time. So why not hire us instead?
We offer several types of editing at affordable prices!

Developmental editors (also known as content editors) fix the story on a structural level. Developmental editors are like alpha readers who are looking to point out plot, characters, theme, and other big-picture issues. However, they will be much more thorough than your average alpha! This kind of editor is letting the author know if a character’s motivation isn’t working or a plot line got lost in the shuffle.

$3.00 for every 1,000 words, rounded to the nearest thousand.

Line editors are reminiscent of beta-readers … only they are so much more than a beta reader! Line editors pick on sentence structure, point out messy info dumps, and basically attack any issues that affect style and readability. A line editor should also point out the smaller details that help make a cohesive novel, like “could you introduce the main character’s doubts earlier?” or “could you save this detail for a chapter or two in?”

Copyediting is just a step above proofreading. It focuses on rules of grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Copyediting catches formatting issues and inconsistencies within the book. A copy-editor will look up words that seem odd for the era of a historical novel and triple-check the writer’s facts and information.

Proofreaders give a novel its last look over.

They pick out typos, misused homonyms, and unruly punctuation. A proofreader doesn’t look for defects in story structure or writing style. If they see an obvious inconsistency or factual mistake, though, they should tell the author.

Blurb Critique

The cover hooks the reader’s attention … but the blurb is the next factor that convinces them your novel is worth their time and money!

We offer blurb critique from several specialists in marketing and editing. We’ll make sure your book is both eye-catching and eye-keeping as well as true to your genre and story.

This service includes one round of feedback with two additional suggestions after your own revisions.
